The Ford Plantation Club Private Pete Dye Golf Course
The legendary Pete Dye was given an unlimited budget and a free hand to design this championship golf course in the mid-1980's. The front nine is designed around 250 acres of freshwater lakes. The back nine is an exquisite Scottish-links style design created on a bluff that juts out into Lake Clara within one of the original plantation rice fields. His design is seen as a tough but fair test of golf and Pete Dye is quoted as saying, "This is arguably my finest Southern design." There are no tee times required. Whether you are a seasoned low handicapper and want to take on the course from the back tees (7105 yards) or a new high handicapper and want to enjoy the front tees (5539 yards), you can play at your own pace while you take in the spectacular vistas of this golf course.
